Had I known a year ago that I would feel the way I do today, I would have never believed it. Her guidance in self-love and self-care has completely transformed the way I approach life. I feel more confident than ever before, and I owe it all to Carrie. You cannot go wrong with her on your side."
"Carrie is Awesome! She is so easy to talk to and a great listener. She challenges me to think differently in the most kind and compassionate way, helping me reframe my thoughts and see things from a new perspective. I always leave our sessions feeling supported, uplifted, and more confident in myself."
“As a 24-year-old college student, I struggled to get along with some of my peers and professors, feeling angry often and very anxious. I am living with my boyfriend which is new to me and felt very insecure. Carrie has a way of listening, helping me navigate a lot of emotions and feelings and has taught me some life-changing behavioral strategies. She has helped me learn new ways to communicate differently to get my point across without becoming so easily angry. Carrie has helped me grow into the person I want to be and will always be forever grateful that she came into my life when she did.”
"Carrie was a lifeline in navigating the caregiving role for my parents, who both have dementia. The stress that me and my family experienced was overwhelming, but knowing we had her on our side for education, support, and advocacy made all the difference. She never judged, always approached us with us a smile, and offered a compassionate way of handling every challenge. I truly don't think we could have gotten through this without her."
"Working with Carrie was a truly comforting and supportive experience. She provided a safe space where I felt heard and understood, helping me reframe my negative thoughts into more positive and constructive ones. Through our Work together, I gained a new sense of empowerment and confidence, allowing me to approach new interactions with excitement rather than fear."
"I had the pleasure of working with Carrie for six years and really developed a strong, professional relationship, while closely collaborating with her under the integrative care team model. Carrie is a very skilled social worker and case manager with excellent communication skills. She successfully helped her clients with case management, problems, transitions of care, and ensuring their success through the health care continuum. Carrie was instrumental in developing strategies and a supportive net work with providers, Hospital, and key professionals. Carrie is a creative thinker, who is able to identify strengths, challenges, and care needs, while supporting her clients and their families."
"I had the pleasure of working closely with Carrie Effinger for several years, and she consistently demonstrated outstanding qualities. Carrie is a natural leader. She is extremely organized, focused, and determined to do the best for her patient and their family.
Carrie has a thirst for knowledge and is constantly learning so she can be on the cutting edge for her patients. She goes above and beyond for her coworkers, patients and patient families. Her hard work is recognized and appreciated by all who know her. If I needed a Social worker to care for my loved one, Carrrie is my choice."
"When my father, who lives with my mother halfway across the country from my sister and me, was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia a few years ago, we had many questions and a whole new aging landscape to navigate. We didn’t really know where to start but I knew Carrie and knew of her many years spent in the social work and elder care sector, and of her personal experience with her own mother. My sister and I set up an initial phone consultation with her to learn more about what our father’s issues might be going forward and, more importantly, to learn what questions we needed to be asking. Carrie provided us with many of those questions as well as a list of resources where we could find area-specific information for my parents where they were living. We then set up a consultation for my parents with Carrie. She gave them what they needed to start the search for a social worker in their area who would be able to accompany them on this journey. My parents found this session very helpful and felt that Carrie equipped them in the getting-started process of finding the right care and assistance.
Carrie is so knowledgeable and compassionate and shares her wisdom in a way that is simply, “passing it along” without any forcefulness or implication that there is only one way. She is in the business of caring and providing information and choices which, in my opinion, are the most important components of assisting the older people we love. "
"I've worked with Carrie for many years now, and I am truly impressed by her consistent ability to navigate difficult psychosocial situations when treating the elderly population. She is proactive, intuitive, and creative in the manner that she brings available resources for the benefit of all involved. She is extremely knowledgeable about cognitive disorders and is talented in her ability to provide skills and resources that humanely and effectively address distressing behaviors that afflict the elderly during their most difficult moments. She is a true master of her craft."
"At the risk of sounding cliche, my only regret about working with Carrie Effinger, is that I did not find her sooner. After our first conversation, I immediately felt like a little weight had been lifted off my shoulders. For fourteen months, through a pandemic, I had been navigating my mother’s rapidly progressing dementia without any real guidance and as a result, was feeling lost and overwhelmed. Carrie was my beacon and I finally felt like I had someone to help steer the ship. She listened with intent and compassion as I shared all of my concerns, worries, and hopes for my mother and then provided the information and support, I had so desperately needed and had not been able to find. We discussed many long-term care options and communities as well as the benefits of having a loved one with dementia in a structured, safe environment. She educated me on medicare plans and connected me with many knowledgeable professionals. In addition, she helped me to understand how best to communicate with my mother and reassured me about all of the care I had already provided. She was extremely empathetic and responsive throughout our entire process and continues to be when new questions arise. Carrie was exactly who I needed and whom I would recommend without reservation. She is a gift."
"Carrie helped my family navigate my dad
s final illness. My dad was in the hospital and I was trying to figure things out from another state. Carrie helped us clarify our needs and wishes. She helped my mom, my siblings and me make plans for dad's release to rehab and then home to hospice. Carrie knows all the care providers and resources in the area very well. She was able to help us come up with a good plan and to implement and coordinate everything very smoothly. It was really helpful having Carrie's neutral, competent, and calm voice on our family zoom. We appreciated her continuing expertise in coordinating services."
